Senate Questions Fashola Over Falling Bridges

The new Minister for three solid ministries- Power, Works and Housing- is having a real feel of what its like to hold such post. The Senate invited Mr. Babatunde Fashola, over recurring cases of bridges’ collapse in parts of the country.

The upper chamber specifically wanted Fashola to brief its committee on Works on plans for reconstruction of all Bailey bridges In the country.

This followed the adoption of a motion on “Recurring collapse of Bailey bridges nationwide” sponsored by Senator Gilbert Nnaji (Enugu East).

Following the adoption of the motion, the Senate mandated its Committee on Works to undertake an inventory of all Bailey bridges nationwide with particular attention to their years of construction and current status.

Isn't too soon to question him over these collapses?

  2. The intension of the invitation is to bring those challenges to his attention and for him to tell them of his plans. I don't see anything wrong. After all, if the Senate knows he would be giving the responsibility of these three powerful ministries, they would have quizzed him accordingly during screening.
He is up to the task, Fashola is man I trust.
