Chief Raymond Dokpesi |
The former Chairman of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi. who was arrested by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was picked up in Abuja at about noon on Tuesday and was
accompanied to the office of the EFCC by his son Raymond Dokpesi Jnr., who is the
current Chairman of Daar Communications.
The Head of Media in the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, told
Channels Television that Chief Dokpesi was arrested in connection with money
disbursed from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo
Dasuki.
Mr. Dokpesi was arrested after investigators established that he received some
money from the office of the then NSA, Sambo Dasuki, “without any clear
reason”.
“Chief Dokpesi received N2.1 Billion from the NSA’s office
but investigators cannot see any clear reason for the payment,” he said.
The source said investigators were “suspicious that the
money was passed to him as payment for the damaging documentaries and campaigns
his station ran on Buhari, Tinubu and Amaechi.
“They believe the funds were budgeted for arms procurement
but was diverted to Mr. Dokpesi.”
He said that there was no explanation about what the money
was meant for and it was pathetic that the office of the NSA was used as “a
warehouse to dish out money to people”.
He added that very worrisome is that this hard-earned money
is taken from the coffers of the country.
Jonathan did not arrest Sahara reports, leadership newspaper and the rest for supporting BUHARI DURING HIS TENURE. THIS IS WICKED AND BUHARI'S SHOULD BE REASONABLE ENOUGH NOT TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY TO A REVENGEFUL NORTH AND SOUTH WAR IN THE NEAREST FUTURE.
ReplyDeleteWhy must people like u b so stupid and blinded by tribal xenophobia. N2.1b was paid t dis man fo no reason and all u can see is dt he supported jonathan? Buhari is causing south vs north war? Is dasuki frm d south? He is d principal suspect, not dokpesi
DeleteLet's think properly and deeply before we jump into making comments about issues.
DeleteIt will be absurd to defend a payment of N2.1b paid to an individual without any reason for it
Nobody is going to help us except we help ourself.
Nigerians wake up!
Why not leave the object and face the subject. Money was paid to him, let him explain what the money paid was used for with evidence then you can now point fingers for wrong accusations. Being bias at all times and to all issues will not help this country.
ReplyDelete2.1billion naira? And you collect that kind of money without any tangible reason? Chai this old man is greedy
ReplyDeleteStealing was not a corruption then
ReplyDeleteThey should be charged to court... Fruitless fights
