Nigeria’s blood-sucking elite... A Must Read

NIGERIA’S political elite is a conclave of vampires. They survive on the blood of their innocent victims, in this instance the blood of struggling Nigerians who have nobody but God to protect them. This elite class of political jobbers are quick to amass wealth at the expense of the struggling majority. But they are never known to give out scholarship to indigent students who need it, nor are they famous for setting up foundations or charity organisations to research some of the killer diseases that the vast majority of Nigerians are ravaged by.

Not even such diseases like cancer that the jet set lifestyles of this greedy Nigerians expose them to increasingly are accorded the benefit of research grants that would ultimately be for their own good if not for all. Nigeria’s class of rich outcasts would rather travel abroad to spend their stolen wealth in the enrichment of the economies of those who already have more than enough to take care of their needs.

The Minister was reacting to the comments credited to Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, that businesses may collapse in the next six months because the Buhari Administration has mismanaged the economy, which he said was the clearest indication yet that the PDP and its leaders are still in denial about the massive body blows they inflicted on the Nigerian economy.

Do Only the Poor go to Jail in Nigeria?

Nigeria’s criminal justice system has often been criticised and ridiculed for its inability to secure convictions, particularly for offences perpetuated by high profile individuals. Yet, one recalls the case of a young man, Kelvin Ighodalo, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison for stealing Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s N50,000 Sony Ericsson phone.
Our justice system is inherently flawed but the current debate over reform efforts is lacking in substance as it focuses mostly on efforts to bring corrupt public officials to heel (which is definitely needed, corruption kills Nigerians let’s never forget it) but the brunt of the system’s injustice and unfairness is actually experienced by the poor masses who spend years in jail awaiting trial, while the rich accused of worse crimes, simply make bail and then wait it out while the case is adjourned till it is forgotten.

Why won't they allow Idris Elba Play James Bond?

Idris Elba
When the Sony hack haemorrhaged damning emails from execs arguing over whether Idris Elba should play the iconic spy-cum-seducer of women James Bond, everyone had an opinion, some uglier than other.
Anthony Horowitz said that Elba was “too street” to play Bond, surely the phrase that will haunt him the rest of his career; Elba casually brushed aside the slight with a suave Instagram saying, “Always keep smiling!! It takes no energy and never hurts! Learned that from the street!!” with a smiley face emoji at the end. Since then, everyone has either campaigned for Elba or against him, but Elba himself has remained oddly mum. Now, in an interview with the Telegraph, he says, “Enough is enough.” He’s simply done talking about James Bond:
